Sanaa: A meeting held on Monday, chaired by Deputy Minister of Local Administration and Rural Development Nasser Al-Mahdhar and attended by Undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor Mohammed Aqabat, discussed mechanisms for integrating the branches of the former Supreme Council for Humanitarian Affairs into the Social Affairs and Labor Offices in the governorates.
According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting, which was also attended by the Director of the Integration Project at the Ministry of Local Administration and Rural Development, Al-Khalil Al-Quraishi, reviewed the implementation plan for completing the integration process of the former council's branches into the governorate-level Social Affairs Offices.
Participants stressed the importance of forming integration committees from the relevant entities, defining their responsibilities, mandates, and developing appropriate mechanisms for their work. They also emphasized the need to inventory the assets and resources of the former council's branches and utilize them to enhance the performance of Social Affairs Offices.
The meeting addressed a number of administrative procedures related to the integration process, including communicating with governors to submit nominations for directors of Social Affairs Offices, accompanied by the relevant job descriptions.
It also underscored the importance of documenting the personnel of the former council's branches in the governorates, completing the legal and administrative procedures required to absorb them into Social Affairs Offices, implementing transfer measures, and regularizing their employment status. Participants further highlighted the need to prepare clear job descriptions outlining roles and responsibilities within Social Affairs and Labor Offices.
The meeting called for the preparation and organization of training courses and workshops for Social Affairs Office staff in development, administrative, and technical fields to strengthen their capacities. It also stressed the importance of developing operational manuals, work templates, and evaluation tools aligned with those adopted by the Ministry of Local Administration and Rural Development.
