Hajjah: A meeting was held on Monday in Hajjah Governorate, chaired by the President of Hajjah University, Dr. Taha Al-Hamzi, to discuss procedures for opening a branch of the Faculty of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine in the provincial capital, as well as ways to enhance the agricultural sector.
According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting included the Vice President of the University, Dr. Mohammed Hamed, the University Secretary-General Nasser Al-Asimi, the Deans of the Faculty of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Essam Abu Ghazal, and the Academic Development and Accreditation Center, Dr. Yahya Al-Alaiy, as well as the Head of the Agricultural Cooperative Union branch, Mohammed Al-Qadami, and representatives of the preparatory committee of the Hajjah City Cooperative Association. The participants addressed aspects of coordination and cooperation to achieve an agricultural renaissance. The meeting emphasized the importance of membership in the Agricultural Cooperative Association in the provincial capital and strengthening its role in supporting the agricultural sector.
The meeting reviewed the Agricultural Cooperative Association's plan to organize farmers and provide agricultural services in a way that enhances partnership with the university, supports farmers' efforts, and helps market their products.
During the meeting, Dr. Al-Hamzi affirmed the university's commitment to establishing agricultural specializations that serve the governorate's realities and meet the needs of farmers and the community, forming an academic, practical support for the development and advancement of the agricultural sector.
The Head of the Agricultural Cooperative Union also affirmed the union's and the association's readiness to cooperate with the university, facilitate farmers' enrollment, contributing to organizing agricultural work and improving local production.
For his part, the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine explained that the faculty will work on developing academic and practical programs to prepare and qualify specialized cadres capable of meeting the needs of the agricultural sector.
