Sana'a: Dr. Abdulaziz Saleh bin Habtour, a member of the Supreme Political Council, extended his condolences and sympathy following the death of Anis Hassan Yahya, a veteran nationalist. Yahya's passing marks the end of a notable career dedicated to serving the nation.
According to Yemen News Agency, Dr. Bin Habtour conveyed his condolences in a message addressed to Yahya's son, Basel, as well as his family, comrades in the Yemeni Socialist Party, and the people of Aden. He highlighted Yahya's significant contributions in the national, political, parliamentary, and leadership arenas, as well as his influential economic writings.
Yahya held several key governmental positions, including Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Fisheries, and the first Minister of Economy prior to the Yemeni reunification. Dr. Bin Habtour also lauded Yahya's parliamentary achievements as the head of the Yemeni Socialist Party's parliamentary bloc in the House of Representatives post-unification.
In addition to his governmental roles, Yahya played a vital role in the founding of various political parties. He was instrumental in establishing the People's Vanguard Party in South Yemen, serving as its Secretary-General. He also contributed to the formation of the Unified Political Organization of the National Front and later the Yemeni Socialist Party, where he was a member of its political bureau.
Dr. Bin Habtour emphasized the loss felt by Yemen with Yahya's passing, recognizing him as a prominent political figure and committed nationalist. The Supreme Political Council member extended his heartfelt condolences to Yahya's family, comrades, and the people of Aden.
