Economy Acting Minister Reviews Status of Struggling Factory

Sana’a: Acting Minister of Economy, Industry, and Investment, Sam Al-Bashiri, today visited one of the struggling factories to examine the reasons behind its difficulties, as well as the measures taken by the ministry and the incentives provided to facilitate its restart. Al-Bashiri listened to a briefing from the factory director regarding the causes of the production halt, the challenges that have hindered the resumption of operations, and the technical readiness of the factory to restart.



According to Yemen News Agency, the Acting Minister emphasized the ministry’s commitment to addressing the situation of struggling factories as part of a broader plan to reduce production costs and protect their products from being undermined by imported goods. He highlighted the incentives offered by the ministry to restart struggling factories in line with the Change and Development Government’s plan, the Economic Stimulus Program, and the initiative to localize domestic industries.



Al-Bashiri stressed the importance of reviving struggling factories and resuming their economic activity, noting their critical role in supporting the national economy and creating jobs to reduce unemployment. He directed the rapid completion of the factory’s status file, as well as the plans, requirements, and incentives necessary for its reopening.



The factory owners, in turn, expressed appreciation for the Acting Minister’s dedication to addressing the challenges faced by struggling factories, affirming that this step would enhance confidence in the partnership between the government and the private sector and demonstrate a serious commitment to improving the business environment in the country.
