Economy Ministry Releases Second Edition of Yemeni Economic Indicator Magazine

Sana'a: The Ministry of Economy, Industry and Investment has announced the release of the second edition of its quarterly publication, the Yemeni Economic Indicator. This edition provides an analysis of key economic indicators and developments from the first quarter of 2026.

According to Yemen News Agency, the magazine is published by the Ministry's Sector of Policies, Studies and Economic Planning and is structured around seven main themes. The first theme includes a macroeconomic and sectoral analysis of growth, economic recovery, and Gross Domestic Product (GDP) indicators, comparing data from the first quarter of 2026 with the same periods in 2024 and 2025.

The second theme investigates global price fluctuations and their direct impact on essential commodity prices and the stability of the domestic market. Meanwhile, the third theme analyzes household consumption expenditure trends and explores governance strategies for the import bill to strengthen the national economy.

The fourth theme delves into trends in new investment and productive projects, utilizing data from the General Investment Authority. The fifth theme offers an in-depth analysis of the manufacturing sector's status and prospects, assessing its contribution to economic growth between 2015 and 2025.

The sixth theme provides a review of economic activities and licenses issued for new businesses, emphasizing the Government of Change and Construction's policies in improving the business environment. Lastly, the seventh theme documents the damage and losses experienced by economic sectors due to the blockade and aggression from March 2015 to March 2026, using detailed figures and indicators.

This edition of the Yemeni Economic Indicator aims to be a reliable scientific reference, aiding decision-makers, researchers, and investors by offering a comprehensive and practical assessment of Yemen's economic landscape amidst current challenges and opportunities.
