Education Concludes 1st Scientific Innovations Competition and Exhibition for University Students in Sana’a

Sana'a: The first Scientific Innovations Competition and Exhibition for students of government and private universities and community colleges was concluded on Tuesday in the capital Sana'a, organized by the Higher Education Sector in cooperation with Ibn al-Nafees University of Medical Sciences.

According to Yemen News Agency, the three-day event featured over 40 innovative projects from ten universities and colleges in medical, engineering, AI, and smart protection systems. Dr. Hatem Al-Daees, Deputy Minister of Education and Scientific Research, praised the organizing team and participating universities for fostering student creativity and emphasized turning scientific innovations into practical applications and products.

Dr. Abdel Aziz al-Houri, Deputy Head of the General Authority for Science, Research, Technology, and Innovation, highlighted Ibn al-Nafees University's achievements in pharmaceutical manufacturing and patents, urging other universities to follow suit. Dr. Nasr al-Hajili, Rector of Ibb University, stressed the exhibition's role in promoting scientific culture and transforming student ideas into applicable models.

The awards recognized top universities and projects: Ibb University won first place, Modern Specialized University second, and Al-Rasheed Smart University third. In community colleges, al-Ghad and al-Ittihad shared first place. The best equipment project was an automated medical liquid production line by Modern Specialized University. Special awards were given to International Emirates University and Ibn al-Nafees Medical University.

The event highlighted student creativity as a driver for economic, medical, and technological development, encouraging partnerships between universities, government, and private sectors.
