Sanaa: The Ministry of Electricity, Energy, and Water honored on Tuesday a number of outstanding institutions for their excellence in preparing emergency plans, implementing readiness, preparedness, and response standards for the year 1447 AH.
According to Yemen News Agency, the Deputy Minister of Electricity, Energy, and Water, Adel Badr, recognized the Ras Katnib Central Power Station, the local water and sanitation institutions in Saada and Ibb governorates, and the General Electricity Corporation - Fourth Region in the Capital Secretariat with the Shield of Excellence. This accolade was in acknowledgment of the exceptional performance of their leadership and staff in preparing emergency plans for the water and electricity sectors and applying the standards of readiness, preparedness, and response for 1447 AH.
The ceremony took into account institutions based on the performance evaluation indicators of the 1446 AH phased plan for the electricity and water sectors. This included the Rural Water and Electricity Projects Authorities, the General Electricity Corporation, and the local water and sanitation institutions in Saada, Ibb, and Amran governorates.
Moreover, the award was extended to the head and members of the Main Planning Unit at the Ministry of Electricity, Energy, and Water-Wesam Al-Ariqi, Zaid Al-Kahlani, Jamil Al-Aghbari, and Dhaki Al-Ma'mari-for their distinguished performance during 1446-1447 AH.
The Deputy Minister emphasized that honoring institutions, both leadership and staff, serves as a tribute to all employees affiliated with the water and electricity sectors, as it fosters fair competition in service provision to citizens. He expressed hope that everyone would continue to fulfill their responsibilities in the current phase, which demands increased efforts to overcome the repercussions of aggression and blockade.
The ceremony, attended by Engineer Ahmed Al-Mutawakkil, Undersecretary of the Electricity Sector, and Abdulghani Al-Madani, Chairman of the General Corporation for Electrical Industries, saw honorees expressing gratitude to the Ministry's leadership. They noted that the recognition serves as motivation for leaders and staff to dedicate themselves and exert efforts to provide better and more accessible water and electricity services.
