Sanaa: Dr. Hatem Al-Da'is, Deputy Minister of Education and Scientific Research, along with Hadi Ammar, Undersecretary of the Basic Education Sector, honored the directors of private and community education departments at the education offices in the governorates on Wednesday.
According to Yemen News Agency, Dr. Al-Da'is emphasized the importance of private education as a complementary partner to public education at the conclusion of a central workshop and the first consultative meeting for directors of private and community education. This event, organized over two days by the Private and Community Education Department of the Basic Education Sector, aimed to address the obstacles and challenges facing private education in accordance with relevant laws, regulations, and decisions.
The Deputy Minister highlighted the need to remedy weaknesses in administrative procedures and transactions, praising the participants for their dedication to enriching and updating work mechanisms. Meanwhile, Hadi Ammar explained that the workshop and consultative meeting were intended to unify the legal procedures for issuing annual renewal decisions for private schools, standardize the forms used, and define the required documents for both paper and electronic processing.
Ammar underscored the importance of timely issuance of decisions, implementing laws, regulations, and ministerial decisions, and adhering to school building standards and procedures for handling non-compliant schools. Adnan Al-Kahlani, Director of Private and Community Education, reviewed the key procedures outlined in the consultative meeting guide, which included aspects such as name changes, building relocation, ownership transfer, annual license renewal, adding classes or educational stages, and capacity assessment, in addition to standards for school buildings and the construction of new schools and their branches.
