Sanaa: The Ministry of Education and Scientific Research held a preparatory meeting in Sanaa on Saturday to mark Prophet Muhammad's birthday (Mawlid al-Nabi). In the meeting, chaired by Minister Hassan Al-Saadi, the officials approved educational programs and activities to commemorate the birthday of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him and his family).
According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting reviewed the guidelines for organizing the commemoration and emphasized the importance of using the occasion to strengthen public awareness among the Yemeni people and the wider Muslim community. Participants described the event as a unifying occasion and highlighted Yemen's distinctive engagement with the celebration, reflecting the country's attachment to the Prophet Muhammad as a role model in all aspects of life and the importance of following his teachings and example.
They also stressed the need to strengthen the Yemeni people's "spirit of jihad" and preparedness for direct confrontation with "the Jews and Christians, the United States, Israel enemy, Britain, and the Arab hypocrites." It further called for demonstrating the strength of the Yemeni people internationally and mobilizing broad participation in preparatory events and activities leading up to the central celebration of the Prophet's birthday.
During the meeting, Minister Al-Saadi emphasized the importance of thorough preparation and organization of the various programs, activities, and events marking the 1448 AH anniversary of the Prophet's birthday in a manner befitting the significance of the occasion and reflecting Yemenis' love for and devotion to the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him and his family). He urged all concerned parties to work together, recognize the importance of the occasion, and express that commitment through active participation in its preparatory activities, mobilization efforts, and events, as well as by commemorating the Prophet's life, his struggles, and the historic transformation he brought about in the Muslim community across all aspects of life.
