Sana'a: European stocks declined slightly on Monday, as declines in consumer goods companies' stocks dissipated gains from the industrial and healthcare sectors, while investors await the monetary policy meeting of the Federal Reserve this week. The European Stoxx 600 index fell 0.2 percent to 577.98 points.

According to Yemen News Agency, major European indices such as Germany's DAX and France's CAC 40 declined 0.1 percent and 0.3 percent respectively. Stocks of consumer staples companies formed the biggest pressure on the index, with Unilever's stock falling 3.1 percent after the consumer goods giant completed its separation from Magnum ice cream company, with the latter scheduled to be listed under the name Magnum Ice Cream.

L'Or©al stock lost 1.6 percent after the French company said it would increase its stake in Swiss skincare products company Galderma to 20 percent. Stocks of industrial and healthcare companies rose 0.1 percent each, limiting the declines.

Investors await the Federal Reserve's decision this week amid expectations of a 25 basis point interest rate cut.
