Brussels: The eurozone unemployment rate rose slightly in August, but remained close to record lows. Eurostat, the European statistical office, said on Friday that the unemployment rate rose marginally to 6.3% in August 2025 from 6.2% in July 2025. According to Yemen News Agency, the data showed that the number of unemployed rose by 11,000 from the previous month to 10.8 million in August 2025. Compared to last year, the unemployment rate fell by 15,000. The youth unemployment rate remained stable at 14% in August 2025. Youth unemployment decreased by 4,000 from July 2025. The number of unemployed people in August stood at 2.2 million. Across the 27-member European Union, the overall unemployment rate remained stable at 5.9% in August 2025. However, the unemployment rate among young people under 25 rose to 14.6% from 14.4% a month earlier.
