Al mahwit: Residents of the districts of Mikhlaf Al-Shahadhiyah in Al-Rajm District, Al Mahwit Governorate, held a central cultural and speech event on Saturday to commemorate the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him and his family.
According to Yemen News Agency, Secretary-General of the Presidency of the Republic and head of the presidential committee overseeing the governorate’s central Mawlid celebrations, Hassan Sharaf Al-Din, highlighted that commemorating the Prophet’s birthday represents a spiritual and cultural occasion to recall the Prophet Muhammad’s noble life and emulate his exemplary morals, principles, and values. He emphasized the importance of the occasion in reinforcing love and attachment to the Prophet as a role model for the Muslim community, advocating for the adoption of his life lessons in patience, steadfastness, compassion, and solidarity in daily life.
Chairman of the General Authority for Endowments, Sheikh Abdul Majeed Al-Houthi, stated that celebrating the Prophet’s birthday illustrates the deep connection with the Messenger of Allah and his significance to the Yemeni people. He remarked that the occasion serves as a reminder of the values and principles conveyed by the Prophet’s message, such as compassion, justice, benevolence, and cooperation, urging the community to embody these values in society.
Al Mahwit Governor Hunayn Qutainah expressed that the governorate’s residents renew their love and attachment to the Messenger of Allah through commemorating the Prophet’s birthday, reaffirming their dedication to their religious and cultural identity. He noted the extensive popular participation in Mawlid events as a demonstration of awareness and interest in this religious occasion, showing the community’s dedication to upholding the Prophet’s life and promoting his values and principles.
The event saw attendance from notable figures including Deputy Minister of Information Dr. Omar Al-Bukhaiti; Shura Council member Saleh Al-Azaki; Secretary-General of the Governorate’s Local Council Dr. Ali Al-Zaykam; Deputy Governors Mohammed Al-Basal, Ahmed Al-Qatmah, and Ali Hussein; Head of General Mobilization in the governorate Ismail Sharaf Al-Din; Al Mahwit Security Director Brig. Gen. Abdullah Al-Tawous; and Deputy Head of General Mobilization Amer Al-Aqhumi. Participants commended the extensive public involvement in the Mawlid celebrations, affirming that the large turnout and organization of the central event in Mikhlaf Al-Shahadhiyah highlight the profound love and loyalty to the Prophet and the significance of the occasion to the local community.
