Sana'a: Sana'a Al-Jadidah District in Sana'a Governorate organized a speech event on Monday to commemorate the anniversary of the Prophet Muhammad's migration (Hijrah). At the event, attended by the governorate's deputy governors, Abdulmalik Al-Gharbi and Ahmed Al-Sammat, and the district director, Abdullah Al-Marouni, Director of the Economy and Industry Office Ibrahim Al-Salami and Director of Neighborhood Affairs Ahmed Rajeh highlighted the importance of commemorating the occasion and drawing lessons and inspiration from it.
According to Yemen News Agency, they reviewed key stages of the Prophet's migration to Madinah, the circumstances surrounding it, and its role in spreading Islam's message throughout the world. They also stressed the importance of adhering to the values and principles brought by the Prophet and strengthening the faith-based identity.
Cultural activist Abdulkarim Atef emphasized the significance of the Hijrah anniversary as a spiritual and educational occasion through which the nation can draw inspiration from the Prophet's values, principles, and morals, as well as the meanings of sacrifice, courage, and steadfastness in confronting injustice and arrogance. He also discussed lessons derived from the Prophet's migration and how Allah protected His Messenger during the journey until he reached Yathrib, where he was warmly welcomed by the Ansar.
Atef further noted the special status granted to the Ansar for hosting and supporting the Prophet, and how Quraysh, despite its oppression and persecution of believers, was ultimately humbled.
