Al-hodeidah: The international symposium of the Global Youth Forum and the launch of the framework matrix for the First Scientific Conference for Yemeni Youth commenced on Monday in Al-Hodeidah Governorate. The event, organized by the Youth Development Association in collaboration with the University of Al-Hodeidah, spans over two days and includes participation from 21 academics, university students, and youth initiatives from Yemen and other countries. Its objective is to create a strategic vision that enhances the role of youth in development and nation-building.
According to Yemen News Agency, Al-Hodeidah Governor Abdullah Atiyfi acknowledged the significant attendance and organization of the symposium during the opening session. He emphasized its importance in fostering cooperation between Yemeni youth and their international counterparts despite the challenging circumstances in the region. He noted that the symposium's convening reflects the attention given by the revolution leader, Sayyed Abdulmalik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, highlighting youth as crucial in the battle of construction and confrontation.
Governor Atiyfi described the Global Youth Forum as a pivotal moment for transitioning youth from theoretical discussions to practical applications. He reaffirmed the local authorities' commitment to integrating the forum's outcomes into the governorate's development plans, particularly in the agricultural and fisheries sectors, and supporting youth-led initiatives.
The symposium also featured a recorded speech from former Iraqi Prime Minister Dr. Adel Abdul-Mahdi, who commended the launch of the scientific framework as a progressive step in aligning scientific research with national needs. He highlighted the importance of establishing applied research centers to enable youth to lead the nation's resistance through awareness and innovation.
Deputy Governor for Services Affairs Mohammed Al-Hulaisi underscored the essential role of youth in enhancing service sectors and infrastructure projects. He praised the framework's plans for establishing youth-managed environmental and service centers, emphasizing local authorities' focus on youth empowerment.
University of Al-Hodeidah President Dr. Mohammed Al-Ahdal stated that the initiative aligns with the university's mission to contribute to the intellectual development of the forum. He stressed the importance of translating academic outcomes into practical applications to fortify national belonging and student awareness.
Head of the Youth Development Association Fadel Al-Dhiyani outlined the forum's executive framework, which aims to transition youth from passive discourse consumption to active engagement. The framework addresses challenges such as soft warfare, economic awareness, and educational gaps, with recommendations for economically empowering youth and supporting their projects.
University Student Forum member Mohammed Noor detailed the framework's phased implementation plan, focusing on establishment, empowerment, and sustainability. The plan includes forming a supreme youth council, launching media platforms, creating a youth business incubator, and supporting initiatives through a dedicated fund.
The symposium features dialogue sessions aimed at harnessing the potential of the younger generation to build a modern Yemen.
