Expanded Meeting in Hodeida Implements Supportive Measures for Farmers

Hodeida:An expanded meeting in Hodeida province, led by Agricultural Cooperative Union Chairman Mubarak al-Qaili, has approved measures to support agricultural cooperatives and farmers in the Tihama region. The meeting also focused on regulating tomato marketing during the current season to stabilize the market and ensure fair pricing for farmers.

According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting reviewed various agricultural support arrangements. These included the distribution of 35,000 bags of bran at a preferential price of 3,000 riyals per bag, distributed based on actual production levels.

Participants agreed to expedite marketing contracts between cooperatives and the Bajil Industrial Complex. They also planned to conduct field surveys to estimate expected production and organize crop supplies during the peak harvest season.

Al-Qaili emphasized the importance of completing the distribution of bran within one week and called for an assessment of tomato production costs in coordination with farmers to set fair prices. Additionally, he encouraged cooperatives to expand their membership and enhance coordination among producers to boost production and marketing efficiency.
