Accra:The National Commission for Human Rights has condemned the Saudi aggression's targeting of the Al-Wadi area in the Al-Ashraf sub-district of Dhi As-Sufal district in Ibb governorate. The attack resulted in injuries to several civilians, including children and women, instilled fear in the local population, and led to the destruction of property.
According to Yemen News Agency, the Commission stated that attacking densely populated areas and villages in Dhi As-Sufal, which hold no military objectives, violates international humanitarian law. It highlighted that the ongoing attacks on Ibb governorate, a region with no military confrontations, significantly endanger civilian lives and property.
The Commission also indicated that this assault is part of a broader policy of collective punishment and a comprehensive blockade imposed on the Yemeni people. It held the Saudi forces fully accountable for the attack and also criticized the United Nations and the Security Council for their silence and inaction in protecting civilians, implicating them in the continuation of such crimes.
The Commission urged international organizations to denounce this crime and work towards holding the leaders of the Saudi-led aggression accountable for committing war crimes.
