Field Campaign Launched to Enhance Safety Measures at Al Salam & Al Irtiqaa Markets in Sa’ada

Sa'ada: The Civil Defense Authority branch in Sa'ada Governorate launched a field campaign today to inspect and assess safety and security requirements at Al Salam Ready-Made Clothing Market in the governorate center and Al Irtiqaa Agricultural Products Export Market in Sahar District.

According to Yemen News Agency, the campaign is part of the authority's efforts to raise preventive awareness, promote compliance with safety standards, and reduce the risks of disasters and accidents in various facilities. It was carried out by the branch's protection and prevention team in coordination with the governorate security department.

During the field visit, Civil Defense Branch Director Colonel Fayed Al-Manbahi met with the managers of Al Salam and Al Irtiqaa markets, Hamza Al-Dhafari, to discuss safety requirements and the importance of strengthening fire protection measures through the installation of early warning and advanced firefighting systems, based on technical studies prepared by the engineering team.

Al-Manbahi stated that the campaign is part of the authority's plan to promote public safety awareness in government and private facilities, helping protect lives and property while reducing potential risks. He confirmed that the branch's Safety and Security Committee will continue field inspections across various facilities in the governorate to ensure compliance with prevention and safety requirements.

He added that the campaign includes providing technical guidance and awareness sessions for workers and officials, identifying shortcomings, and requiring concerned parties to address violations in line with approved regulations and standards to enhance facilities' readiness for emergencies.

The Civil Defense director called on market and mall owners to install early warning systems, cooperate with inspection teams, and comply with safety requirements to ensure the protection of citizens and property.
