Sana'a: The Ministry of Information launched a comprehensive media plan on Wednesday for the Prophet's Birthday 1448 AH during a meeting that included representatives from governmental, private, and international media outlets. The initiative aims to cover, commemorate, and report on this significant religious occasion with a focus on highlighting the life and teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
According to Yemen News Agency, Deputy Minister of Information Dr. Omar Al-Bukhaiti outlined the media plan's objectives, guidelines, tasks, and implementation procedures for media outlets. He emphasized the importance of commemorating the Prophet's Birthday as a divine blessing and an opportunity to enrich oneself with Islamic values. Dr. Al-Bukhaiti highlighted the need to strengthen the Yemeni people's connection to the Prophet's teachings and their authentic faith-based identity while addressing global challenges.
The Deputy Minister called upon the Arab and Muslim world to return to the teachings of the Quran and pledge allegiance to Allah and His Messenger. He stressed the importance of exposing regimes that falsely claim affiliation with Islam and countering misleading narratives propagated by the enemies of Islam. Dr. Al-Bukhaiti also underscored Yemen's leading role in upholding Islamic values and confronting global challenges.
Dr. Ahmed Al-Shami, Undersecretary for Policies and Content, noted the significance of widespread participation in the events commemorating the Prophet's Birthday. He stated that the celebration reinforces the veneration of the Prophet, especially in the face of increasing insults against him. Dr. Al-Shami emphasized that the occasion is not merely ceremonial but a celebration of pride, dignity, and a defense of the oppressed.
Mohammed Mansour, Undersecretary for External Relations and Media, highlighted the importance of extensive media coverage of the celebrations in various languages. He stressed the need for creative coverage and community initiatives during this occasion. The media plan includes effective coverage across television, radio, print, and digital platforms, as well as producing documentaries and educational materials focusing on the Prophet's life and teachings.
The plan also involves monitoring and countering propaganda from enemy media outlets, ensuring that the Yemeni people's unique celebration and devotion to the Prophet are accurately portrayed. Celebrations are set to take place on the 12th of Rabi' al-Awwal in Sana'a and other governorates, with live broadcasts and extensive coverage planned to showcase the public turnout and the spirit of the occasion.
