Sana'a: The first Al-Bardouni Festival, organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, will open next Saturday and run for three days. This event marks a significant cultural endeavor, coinciding with the 27th anniversary of the death of the renowned Yemeni poet, thinker, writer, and philosopher Abdullah Al-Bardouni.
According to Yemen News Agency, Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Abdullah Al-Washli highlighted the festival's aim to elevate the commemoration of Al-Bardouni's legacy from a traditional occasion to a broader cultural event. The festival seeks to draw inspiration from Al-Bardouni's intellectual and literary achievements and to reintroduce his work to future generations.
Al-Washli noted that the inaugural Al-Bardouni Festival is set to become an annual literary and cultural event. Through this initiative, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism aims to revitalize the cultural landscape by honoring its prominent figures, with Al-Bardouni being one of its most distinguished icons.
The festival will feature a variety of cultural and artistic activities, including poetry readings, critical sessions, and the honoring of cultural figures. Additionally, the program will include the launch and distribution of a book by the late Al-Bardouni, focusing on cultural affairs.
