Al-Qanawis:Grameen Yemen Foundation is set to begin a four-day surgical camp offering free tumor removal operations in Al-Qanawis District, Al-Hodeidah Governorate, starting this Saturday. The initiative aims to perform 100 surgeries, with the potential to increase this number.
According to Yemen News Agency, the camp is organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Environment, its local office, and Al-Qanawis Hospital. This effort seeks to alleviate the financial pressure on low-income families.
Examinations and case registrations will be conducted at Al-Qanawis Mother and Child Hospital, as stated by Camp Director Abdulkhaleq Al-Khamisi. The surgeries will address tumors in various areas, including the thyroid, parotid gland, tongue, neck, chest, breast, uterus, digestive system, liver, kidneys, skin, and limbs. Additionally, port catheter insertions will be performed.
Patients requiring surgery will eventually be referred to Al-Khazan Hospital in Sana'a for further treatment.
