Governor of Aden Highlights Yemeni Determination in October 14 Revolution

Aden:Governor Ali Al-Azibi emphasized the significance of the October 14 Revolution, initiated by the Yemeni people against British colonial rule in 1963, as a testament to their determination to reclaim freedom by force and resist foreign occupation.

According to Yemen News Agency, Al-Azibi remarked that Yemeni fighters united with the common goal of regaining their homeland and restoring the dignity and freedom of their nation. This struggle was marked by a refusal to submit to the occupiers and a commitment to expelling them from Yemeni soil.

The revolution, sparked from the mountains of Radfan, saw fighters from across Yemen sacrificing their lives and challenging the British forces that had dominated southern Yemen for 129 years. This resistance ultimately led to the National Evacuation Day, when the last British soldier left Yemen on November 30, 1967.

Al-Azibi drew parallels to current events, noting that the descendants of these freedom fighters, supported by the Yemeni populace, are engaged in a battle against Saudi aggression and blockade, ongoing for twelve years. He expressed confidence that, like the British, the Saudi occupiers would eventually be expelled due to Yemeni resilience and the sacrifices made by their armed forces.

The governor also highlighted the increasing awareness among the people of the South regarding the true intentions of the occupation and its exploitation of their resources. He stressed that the signs of victory, supported by the Yemeni people's sacrifices, are becoming evident.
