Taiz: A free surgical medical camp was launched on Saturday at Al-Rahedah General Hospital in Khadir district of Taiz province, offering surgeries for hernias, gallbladder conditions, cyst removal, tonsillectomies, and hemorrhoids.
According to Yemen News Agency, the seven-day camp, organized under the supervision of the Ministry of Public Health and Environment, the local authority, and the province's health office, aims to provide free consultations, medical examinations, treatment, and surgical procedures for 200 patients, helping ease the burden on those in need amid current conditions.
The launch was attended by Khadir District Director Fares Al-Juradi, Al-Rahedah Hospital Director Dr. Abdu Saeed, and Taiz Health Office Director Dr. Mohammed Al-Ezzi, who said the initiative reflects the commitment of the Ministry of Health and local authorities to expanding access to healthcare, particularly for low-income patients.
Al-Ezzi described the camp's launch, coinciding with the anniversary of the martyrdom of Imam Zaid, as a step toward strengthening free healthcare services and improving public access to medical treatment. He noted that the camp is staffed by a team of specialist physicians and consultants and provides medicines and medical supplies free of charge.
He added that the Taiz Health Office remains committed to organizing similar medical camps to help meet the healthcare needs of residents across the province.
