Hodeidah: The team 'Friends of Abu Ali Al-Kuhlani' was crowned champion of the World Quds Day Volleyball Tournament in Hodeidah Governorate, organized by the Youth and Sports Office in cooperation with the Public Mobilization Authority under the slogan 'Jerusalem Is Our First Cause.'
According to Yemen News Agency, the team secured the championship title after defeating 'Ahli Al-Hodeidah' in the final match held in Al-Mina District, winning two straight sets (25-20) and (25-22) amid strong public attendance and enthusiastic sporting interaction.
During the award ceremony, Director of the Youth and Sports Office in the governorate Imad Al-Barai said the tournament was part of youth and sports activities held to commemorate World Quds Day and to reflect the Yemeni people's steadfast position toward the Palestinian cause while reinforcing its presence in the consciousness of young people and athletes.
He noted that the tournament reflected a high level of competitive spirit and a strong connection to the nation's central causes, foremost among them the issue of Jerusalem and Palestine, as well as a rejection of the crimes of Zionist aggression against the Palestinian people.
For his part, Al-Mina District Director Abdullah Al-Hadi praised the level of organization and the wide participation of sports teams, describing sporting activities as one of the fronts of steadfastness and a strong message of solidarity from Yemeni youth to the fighters of the resistance in Gaza and Palestine.
At the end of the match, Al-Barai, Al-Hadi, and several sports and community leaders honored the 'Friends of Abu Ali Al-Kahlani' team with the championship trophy and gold medals, while 'Ahli Al-Hodeidah' received the runner-up cup and silver medals.
