Hodeida: The General Authority of Endowments and Guidance launched the fifth phase of its sacrificial meat distribution project in Hodeida governorate as part of its Eid al-Adha charitable initiatives funded by donors and endowment contributors.
According to Yemen News Agency, the project, carried out under the slogan 'Preserved Giving and Sustainable Charity,' aims to distribute 130 cattle to poor families, orphans, needy individuals, and frontline fighters in the governorate during the 1447 AH Eid al-Adha season. At the launch ceremony, Chairman of the General Authority of Endowments and Guidance, Abdulmajid al-Houthi, explained that the initiative is part of the authority's humanitarian and charitable programs implemented across several governorates to deliver sacrificial meat to vulnerable groups.
Al-Houthi noted that the current activities are possible through endowments established by previous generations, who viewed them as a lasting means of serving people and assisting those in need. He mentioned that the authority oversees more than 150 charitable programs rooted in the Islamic tradition of endowment and social welfare. Throughout its five phases, the sacrificial meat project has distributed approximately 1,000 cattle to beneficiaries in several governorates, assisting thousands of families.
He also emphasized efforts to expand endowment and charity projects to strengthen social solidarity and ease hardships faced by families, especially under current conditions that require greater cooperation. Hodeida Undersecretary Ahmed al-Bishri praised the authority's initiatives, saying they help bring joy to families and fighters during Eid and described endowment projects as a practical model for utilizing resources to serve society.
Hodeida Province for Services Affairs Mohammed Halisi commended the project, describing it as a positive step reflecting the concern of the leadership and the Endowments Authority for supporting families in the governorate. He highlighted the authority's role in investing and managing endowment resources according to their designated purposes to achieve sustainable social benefits.
Meanwhile, Abdulrahman al-Warfi, head of the Guidance Sector in the governorate, stated that distribution teams would ensure the meat reaches eligible beneficiaries through an organized mechanism designed to fulfill the project's goals.
