General Investment Authority Denounces Saudi Attacks on Investment Facilities

Taiz:The General Investment Authority has condemned the targeting of investment facilities and production factories by Saudi forces, highlighting the recent attack on the Al-Qudsi Plastic Footwear Factory in Al-Rubaie, Al-Taiziyah district, Taiz province.

According to Yemen News Agency, the authority's statement revealed that the strike on the plastic footwear factory resulted in the deaths of three workers and injuries to seven others. It also caused the destruction of technical equipment and the complete halt of factory operations.

The statement further emphasized that the targeting of sponge factories and other economic facilities is considered a war crime and an assault on Yemen's investment environment. It criticized the continued attacks on investment and industrial projects, which had been under blockade and were attempting to recover, as part of a systematic plan to destroy national investment infrastructure and worsen the living conditions in Yemen.

Additionally, the statement pointed out that these attacks violate international humanitarian law and conventions protecting civilian properties and development facilities, holding the Saudi forces accountable for the losses incurred.

The authority reaffirmed its commitment to supporting investors and coordinating with relevant bodies to assess and document the damages. It also called on the United Nations and other international organizations to condemn these actions and address the humanitarian crisis in Yemen.
