Sana'a: The German Federal Statistical Office announced on Saturday that industrial production in Germany declined by 0.7% in March compared to February. This decline was attributed to a 4% drop in energy production and a 2.7% decrease in machinery manufacturing output.
According to Yemen News Agency, the office noted in its latest data that a 1.9% increase in production in both the construction and automotive sectors helped to mitigate the overall decline. It further indicated that industrial production, excluding energy and construction, fell by 0.9% compared to February. Additionally, the production of capital goods, such as machinery and equipment, decreased by 1.6%, and consumer goods by 1.9%.
The data showed that industrial production in March fell by 4.1 percent year-on-year compared to the same month in 2025, while total output of the manufacturing sector, which includes industry, energy, and construction, fell by 2.8 percent year-on-year. Meanwhile, average production during the period from January to March 2026 recorded a decline of 1.2 percent compared to the previous three months.
