Hodeida: Governor Abdullah Atifi inspected the progress of work at several colleges and facilities of Hodeidah University on Saturday, assessing the academic and administrative performance levels. This inspection is part of the government's commitment to developing higher education institutions and improving the quality of their graduates.
According to Yemen News Agency, Atifi, accompanied by the Rector of Hodeida University, Dr. Mohammed Al-Ahdal, and his deputy, Dr. Abdulmomen Al-Muntasir, visited the Faculties of Arts, Dentistry, and Medicine and Health Sciences (Department of Physical Therapy). They also visited the old university administration building and received a briefing on the conditions of the colleges and educational facilities, the level of implementation of academic activities, and their development needs.
During the visit, the governor discussed with the university president and academic leaders aspects of cooperation and coordination between Hodeidah University and private universities in the governorate. The meeting reviewed mechanisms for strengthening scientific and research partnerships and exchanging expertise between the public and private universities, ensuring improved educational outcomes and meeting the demands of local development and the labor market.
Governor Atifi emphasized the governorate's commitment to supporting Hodeida University and enabling it to fulfill its scientific and national mission. He noted its pivotal role as a leading educational institution in preparing qualified professionals to serve the community and advance development. He considered investing in university education a true investment in human capital, pointing out that developing the academic environment and providing the necessary resources contribute to raising the level of education and preparing generations equipped with the knowledge and skills to meet development requirements and serve the nation.
The governor also visited the branch of the University of Science and Technology and discussed with its director, Dr. Mohammed Al-Lima, efforts to enhance the quality of university education and expand partnerships between educational institutions. He received a briefing from the branch director on the educational process, the academic programs and specializations offered, student enrollment levels, and the efforts being made to develop the educational environment and improve the quality of graduates.
He praised the level of organization and academic and administrative discipline he witnessed, and the attention given to providing a suitable educational environment, stressing the importance of integrating the roles of public and private universities in preparing qualified national cadres, and expanding areas of cooperation and partnership in a way that contributes to improving university education and serving development paths in the governorate.
