Sanaa: A joint meeting was held on Monday by the leadership of the Tax and Customs Authority and the Executive Committee to review the progress and completed procedures related to the integration process within the authority.

According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting also reviewed progress on the remaining phases of the integration process, particularly technical, financial, and administrative measures, noting that work on these aspects has reached its final stages.

It stressed the need to expedite completion of the implementation matrices prepared by the Higher Committee for the Merger, including tasks assigned to the authority's integration teams, ahead of their submission at the next meeting.

The meeting, chaired by Acting Chairman Dr. Ibrahim Mahdi and attended by Deputy Chairman Dr. Ahmed Shuraim, Deputy Chairmen Ali Al-Khatib, Abdulkarim Rasa, and Abdulrahman Aishan, along with Executive Committee Chairman Dr. Tariq Al-Buraq, assessed efforts to complete the transfer of employees under the authority's physical integration plan, described as one of the key procedural steps in the merger.

Dr. Mahdi reaffirmed the authority's commitment to fully supporting the merger committees and providing all necessary resources to facilitate their work.

He said the integration process marks the beginning of a new phase of institutional development based on integrity and transparency in tax and customs administration, praising the merger teams for their efforts to implement the process through a scientific and systematic approach that promotes greater coordination between tax and customs operations.

For his part, Dr. Al-Buraq commended the authority's leadership for its cooperation with the merger committees, saying the support has helped accelerate progress and positioned the authority to become a model government institution in implementing the integration process.
