Governor of Aden Highlights Challenges to Yemeni Unity Amid Political Strife

Aden: The Governor of Aden, Ali Al Azibi, emphasized that the restoration of Yemeni unity was a decision rooted in the collective will of the people from the southernmost to the northernmost regions, rather than a political choice that could be disregarded. This unity, he stated, established a republic of one people within a single homeland.

According to Yemen News Agency, Governor Al Azibi made these remarks during a statement on the occasion of the 36th National Day of the Republic of Yemen on May 22. He criticized certain politicians for deviating from the people's will, exploiting their inherent unity for personal gain, and turning the country's unity into a battleground for vested interests. These actions, he argued, led to southern oppression and internal conflicts instigated by opportunists with divisive intentions.

Al Azibi highlighted Aden's pivotal role as a pioneer and supporter of unity, noting that the city helped transform a long-held dream into reality. He stressed that despite ongoing efforts by divisive forces to undermine unity, the nation's resilience has allowed it to retain its aspirations for justice and compensation.

In his concluding remarks, Governor Al Azibi congratulated the Yemeni people on the 36th anniversary of their unity. He expressed confidence that the vision of a united Yemen remains a reality, while acknowledging that those who conspired against it were merely transient obstacles. He underscored that the Yemeni spirit, deeply rooted in its people, continues to safeguard the nation's unity and rights.
