Grain Screening and Sorting Machine Delivered to Bajil Agricultural Cooperative

Hodeida: Bajil Multi-Purpose Agricultural Cooperative Association in Hodeida received a grain screening and sorting machine, as part of the final technical preparations for its community seed bank. The delivery was supported by the General Corporation for the Production of Improved Seeds.

According to Yemen News Agency, this initiative is part of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources' efforts to enhance the capacities of agricultural communities and improve the quality of local production through the establishment and development of sustainable community seed banks.

During the handover, Association Chairman Adel Sam expressed his appreciation for the technical support provided by the Ministry. He noted that the machine will contribute to improving the efficiency of the seed bank and enhancing the quality of local seed classification, supporting self-sufficiency.

Seed Bank Technical Director Engineer Yahya Hatem explained that the machine will boost the bank's capacity to sort and classify seeds according to precise scientific standards. This will positively impact crop quality and increase farmers' confidence in local production.

Meanwhile, Association's Executive Director Hussein al-Dhiabi stressed that this support marks an important step in modernizing the cooperative's agricultural infrastructure. It will contribute to sustainable rural development in the district.

The community seed bank at the Bajil Association is considered one of the pioneering projects implemented by the Ministry in partnership with local communities. It is part of the national strategy for agricultural sector development and food security.

The handover ceremony was attended by the Secretary General of the Local Council in the district, Mohammed Ma'afa.
