Hajjah: The Geological Survey and Mineral Resources Authority's branch in Hajjah governorate on Saturday launched a series of activities and events to commemorate the Prophet Muhammad's birthday.

According to Yemen News Agency, at the launch event, Branch Director Mohammed Al-Qudami said Yemenis' distinctive commemoration of the Prophet's birthday reflects their strong attachment to the Prophet Muhammad and his teachings. He stated that prosperity, victory, dignity, and relief after hardship can only be achieved, in his view, by following the Prophet's religion and adhering to his teachings, while emulating his courage, sacrifices, and positions in support of the oppressed, as well as his moral values and principles.

Al-Qudami described commemorating the Prophet's birthday as a first step toward returning to God and the Prophet's religion, which he characterized as a religion of goodness, dignity, light, and success. He added that the occasion reaffirms steadfastness in upholding the truth and draws inspiration from the Prophet's perseverance during difficult circumstances.

He noted that the branch's program for this year's commemoration includes holding large-scale evening events and activities in several districts, in addition to expanding charitable and community-support programs. He called on everyone to participate actively in the central commemorative events.

Cultural activist Abdul Hakim Al-Maqa'ad, for his part, stressed the importance of commemorating the birth of the Prophet Muhammad as an affirmation of adherence to his life and teachings. He also highlighted the importance of following his approach, which he said calls for confronting adversaries and restoring the Muslim nation's strength and standing. Al-Maqa'ad also addressed what he described as the significance of commemorating the Prophet's birth, Yemenis' longstanding connection with and support for the Prophet, and efforts by opponents to discourage people from commemorating the occasion.
