Hajjah Reviews Performance Evaluation Plans for Agricultural Cooperative Associations

Hajjah: A meeting chaired by Hajjah governor Hilal al-Soufi reviewed plans to evaluate the performance of agricultural cooperative associations and strengthen their role in supporting farmers and local development.

According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting discussed an evaluation framework prepared by a specialized team. It also approved field visits to districts by a committee representing relevant government bodies, development institutions, and the agricultural cooperative sector. The assessment process will begin in selected model districts.

Participants reviewed efforts to establish multi-purpose agricultural cooperatives in several districts, expand membership, improve agricultural product marketing, and provide support for the agricultural cooperative union and local dairy production initiatives. Governor al-Soufi emphasized the importance of agricultural cooperatives in implementing projects that benefit farmers and shareholders and contribute to sustainable development.
