Sana'a: The Tax and Customs Authority has announced the opening of a registration period for right-hand-drive vehicles, 7-passenger buses, as well as vehicles and equipment of American origin or bearing U.S. brands that have arrived at entry points and registration committees.
According to Yemen News Agency, the measure is being implemented in line with directives from the political leadership aimed at providing solutions and addressing citizens' needs in consideration of current circumstances.
The Authority stated that the registration process will be carried out under specific procedures during June and July 2026.
It noted that owners will benefit from a reduction in import-ban penalties during the June-July 2026 grace period, with customs valuation calculated using the official exchange rate. After the grace period expires, customs valuation will be calculated based on the prevailing market exchange rate, in addition to the imposition of import-ban penalties.
The Authority urged owners of such vehicles and equipment to take advantage of the opportunity and regularize their status within the specified period.
