Hajjah Zakat Office Initiates First 2026 Aid for Unemployed Families

Hajjah: The Hajjah Province Zakat Authority office in the governorate has launched the inaugural disbursement of its 2026 project aimed at assisting unemployed families. This initiative, unveiled at the governorate's center, targets 5,028 families with disabilities, with a budget allocation of 330 million riyals.

According to Yemen News Agency, the director of the governorate's Zakat office, Fayid al-Malahi, stated that the project follows several disbursements made in 2025, which amounted to over 800 million riyals. The project is a strategic effort by the Authority and its office to alleviate the challenges faced by families unable to work and the economically disadvantaged sections of society.

Al-Malahi highlighted the Authority's dedication to expanding the beneficiary base and ensuring the proper allocation of Zakat funds in line with established guidelines. He stressed the crucial role of Zakat payers and businesspeople in bolstering the Zakat Authority's endeavors.

Furthermore, Al-Malahi noted that the Zakat Office in the governorate has implemented significant projects, including those for individuals unable to work, medical assistance, debt relief, in-kind Zakat, and other initiatives aimed at reducing hardship.
