Sana'a: Members of the University of 21 September for Medical and Applied Sciences in Sana'a held a mass protest on Wednesday in support of the Holy Qur'an, Al-Aqsa Mosque, and in solidarity with Lebanon.

According to Yemen News Agency, the protest, which included academic, administrative, technical staff, and students, affirmed that repeated desecrations of the Holy Qur'an constitute a blatant attack on the sanctities of the Islamic nation and an incitement to the feelings of Muslims. Participants stressed the importance of adhering to Allah's Book and raising awareness of the dangers posed by the hostile US-Zionist project against Islam and the Muslim world.

A statement issued by the protest strongly condemned the new US-Zionist crime against the Holy Qur'an, affirming that such practices are part of a systematic campaign targeting the Islamic nation, its sanctities, and its faith-based identity. The statement pointed out that the nation today faces a historical responsibility to confront these hostile campaigns, calling on Arab and Islamic peoples and governments to take serious action and fulfill their duty toward Islamic holy sites, foremost among them the Holy Qur'an and Al-Aqsa Mosque.

It praised Yemen's positions in support of Islamic and Arab causes, affirming the steadfastness of the Yemeni people in backing the issues of the nation and rejecting all forms of abuse against Islamic sanctities. The statement also called on the academic and educational community in Yemen and the wider Islamic world to play its role in raising awareness, strengthening identity, and faith-based belonging among younger generations and students.

Participants declared their readiness and steadfastness in supporting just Islamic causes and in standing in solidarity with the Palestinian and Lebanese peoples in the face of ongoing aggression and violations.
