Hajjah’s Community Initiative Projects Reach 100% Completion Rate with Local Support

General

Hajjah: Intensive efforts in implementing community initiative projects have marked a significant development in Hajjah province. Last year, the province successfully executed dozens of community projects addressing various needs, backed by the local authority and the Central Emergency Developmental Interventions Unit of the Ministry of Local Administration and Rural Development.

According to Yemen News Agency, the surge in community engagement in these initiatives aligns with the directives of Revolution Leader Sayyed Abdulmalik Badruddin Al-Houthi and the Head of the Supreme Political Council. These directives emphasize the importance of activating societal roles, especially in road development projects. The combined efforts of the community, local authority, and Central Interventions Unit resulted in the implementation of 70 initiatives, achieving a 100% completion rate with a total investment of 705,206,618 Yemeni riyals. Contributions were divided among the community (43%), the Interventions Unit (32%), and the local authority (25%).

A significant purchase of five excavation machines for various districts cost 276,014,000 riyals, with substantial financial input from the local authority, the Interventions Unit, and the community. This purchase is part of a broader community effort reflecting an increasing awareness and responsibility towards supporting state-led construction and development initiatives, in line with the revival project launched by the late President Saleh Al-Sammad.

Hajjah Governor Hilal Al-Sufi commented to Saba News Agency that community efforts have significantly advanced construction and development, following the guidance of revolutionary leaders and the Supreme Political Council. He emphasized that road projects are prioritized due to their critical role in easing transportation, facilitating service access, and boosting local development and agricultural production.

Governor Al-Sufi recognized the community's active participation in sustainable development projects, expressing the local authority's commitment to supporting such initiatives. He also highlighted the revolutionary leadership's ongoing support through the Central Emergency Developmental Interventions Unit, which has been instrumental in motivating community-driven projects.

Engineer Shihab Al-Shami, Executive Director of the Central Interventions Unit, reiterated the commitment to advancing developmental projects within Hajjah and other provinces, urging collaborative efforts among all stakeholders. He emphasized the need for prepared studies to facilitate project endorsement and support, praising the local authority's dedication and community involvement despite challenging circumstances.

A technical report from the Community Initiatives Support Department, acquired by Saba, stated that 540,611 beneficiaries from various districts benefited from last year's projects. These initiatives included paving, expansion, surveying, and the construction of retaining walls. Substantial excavation work was completed, covering a total of 254,286 cubic meters, with detailed contributions from earthwork, rock excavation, and mixed excavation activities.

Abdulwahab Sanan, representing the Central Emergency Developmental Interventions Unit in the province, reported significant contributions, including diesel and cement supplies, financial support for excavation equipment, and skilled labor assistance for project phases. The Unit's support remains crucial in alleviating the community's burden and advancing developmental projects.
