Work Begins on $1.422 Million Rehabilitation Project for Ibb’s Main Street

Ibb: Ibb Governor Abdulwahab Salah launched work on Tuesday for the rehabilitation and maintenance project for the main street in Ibb city, at a cost of $1.422 million, funded by the World Bank through the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS).

According to Yemen News Agency, the project is divided into two sections: the first section spans 2.2 kilometers, starting from the Transport Triangle to the Jibla Watercourse, while the second section extends 3.12 kilometers from Al-Adin Roundabout to the Transport Triangle. The launch was attended by the Director of the Public Works Sector in the governorate, Engineer Ibrahim Al-Shami.

Meanwhile, Governor Salah and Engineer Al-Shami reviewed the progress of another project aimed at rehabilitating some of Ibb's streets with concrete paving, costing 186 million Yemeni riyals and funded locally. Governor Salah stated that the launch of the main street rehabilitation and maintenance project is crucial for improving infrastructure in the governorate. He emphasized its role in contributing to smoother traffic flow and enhancing road safety.

He highlighted the importance of monitoring the implementation stages to ensure timely completion with the highest quality standards, noting that these projects align with the province's local development initiatives. Director Al-Shami echoed these sentiments, explaining that the main street rehabilitation project is a strategic move toward infrastructure improvement, aimed at enhancing traffic movement and reducing congestion.
