Sana'a: The Presidential Committee together with the Education Sector in the Hamdan District of Sana'a Governorate has initiated a series of cultural and sports events in schools, both public and private, to celebrate the Prophet's birthday.
According to Yemen News Agency, Deputy Director of the Office of the Presidency of the Republic, Fahd Al-Ezzi, highlighted the essential role of teachers in society, serving as guides and mentors who impart noble values and morals to successive generations. He urged educators to embrace their responsibilities before Allah and His Messenger in cultivating a generation enriched with Quranic culture and connected to the Prophet's values and morals.
Al-Ezzi underscored the significance of the upcoming celebratory events and cultural activities in honoring the Prophet's life, offering valuable lessons that will contribute to students' personal development and positive behavioral shaping. He called for active participation in the preparatory events, leading up to the central celebration in Al-Sabeen Square, Sana'a, on the 12th of Rabi' al-Awwal.
During the event, Al-Ezzi also emphasized Yemen's supportive position for Gaza, noting that under the leadership of Sayyid Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, Yemen has emerged as a regional and global force, maintaining a sovereign stance and refusing subjugation to dominant powers, unlike some neighboring countries.
The Deputy Director addressed the critical challenges faced by the Arab and Islamic world due to some regimes' compliance with dominant powers and their betrayal by normalizing relations with the Israeli enemy, which has committed severe atrocities against the people of Gaza.
The launch event, which included attendees such as Shura Council member Yahya Ayed, Head of Cultural and Media Affairs Zaid Al-Gharsi, Deputy Governor Atef Musli, and District Director Fahd Attia, also featured cultural activist Zakaria Al-Houthi. He emphasized the importance of celebrating the Prophet's birthday in strengthening Quranic culture among students, highlighting the key role of teachers in imparting the Prophet's biography through modern educational methods.
Al-Houthi stressed the relevance of connecting the Prophet's teachings to contemporary issues, aiding in the development of a generation equipped with Quranic culture and devoid of misconceptions. Education Sector Official Ali Alban reiterated the commitment of educators to actively engage in this celebration, leveraging it as an opportunity to instill a conscious Muslim generation committed to its religious and Quranic tenets.
