Ma'in district: The leadership of Ma'in District in the Capital Secretariat handed over the site of a sanitation project in several neighborhoods of the southern Muthibah area to the implementing entity. The project will establish a sewage network for the neighborhoods of Bab al-Dair, Old Muthibah, Western Qa' Muthibah, and Qa' Saud, funded at 168,000 euros with support from the Social Fund for Development. Supervision is provided by the Capital Secretariat and the local Water and Sanitation Corporation.
According to Yemen News Agency, the project is expected to improve the environmental situation, address sewage overflow, and alleviate citizens' struggles by providing sanitation services to the targeted neighborhoods. The network will span 3,700 meters. Engineer Mohammed Muda'is, Director of the Local Water Corporation, emphasized the importance of implementing projects that enhance and expand sanitation services while reducing environmental and health risks.
The Director of Ma'in District, Abdulmalik Al-Radi, highlighted the project's role in improving basic services and infrastructure, especially in densely populated areas. He underscored the necessity of adhering to engineering specifications and quality standards, acknowledging the Social Fund's role in supporting service and development projects.
Engineer Mohammed Al-Sharqi, a representative of the Social Fund, confirmed the project's alignment with the Fund's mission to improve sanitation services. He assured that the project would proceed according to a specific timeline and under technical supervision to ensure implementation quality.
Additionally, the Directors of the Local Water and Sanitation Corporation and Ma'in District assessed the progress of the sewage network in Al-Ghufran, Tariq bin Ziyad, and Central Al-Ja'ra neighborhoods, also supported by the Social Fund for Development.
