Sana'a: The head of the Islamic Forum and member of the Yemeni Scholars Association, Sheikh Ahmed Abu Huriya, emphasized the role of scholars in carrying the banner of jihad, which is a blessing from Allah upon His servants.
According to Yemen News Agency, in a speech delivered at the annual conference of Yemeni scholars held today in Sana'a, Sheikh Abu Huriya said: "We thank Allah Almighty for bestowing upon us the blessing of jihad in His cause and confronting the enemies through jihad, which is greater than martyrdom, considering that martyrdom is an incentive from Allah for the believers."
He added, "Martyrdom is an incentive for the believers, and jihad is a blessing from Allah upon us, which we seek to thank Him for by continuing it until Allah Almighty grants the believers success in continuing it until they meet Him."
The head of the Islamic Forum continued, "Scholars are role models and exemplars. Every scholar has dozens of followers who obey his commands and refrain from what he forbids. If they see scholars carrying the banner of jihad and at the forefront, the followers will be mobilized. Conversely, if scholars become complacent and consider themselves insignificant, believing their only duty is to attend gatherings and teach a select group of students-not commanding them to engage in jihad, but rather discouraging them-then the scholars will bear the burden of abandoning jihad in the path of Allah, and the burden of those who abandon it for their sake."
He emphasized the importance of including jihad in the lectures, sermons, and lessons of scholars, guides, and preachers, so that they may be mujahideen in the path of Allah and champions of the nation's causes. He added, "We are at an age where we cannot participate in jihad in the path of Allah, but through our words and by speaking out, we can participate in the path of Allah." The scholar Abu Huriya urged everyone to engage in jihad in light of the current circumstances and the conspiracies being hatched against the nation by the Jews, Christians, and their lackeys from the Al Saud and Al Nahyan families. He pointed out that the Saudis and Emiratis are tools of America, cloaked in the mantle of Islam.
