Sanaa: Minister of Health and Environment, Dr. Ali Sheban, met with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Abdulwahid Aburas, to discuss the activities of the World Health Organization (WHO) in Yemen.
According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting, which was also attended by Deputy Minister of Health and Environment, Dr. Nasser Al-Qoud, focused on the impact of WHO's decision to halt certain humanitarian health projects. The discussion highlighted the effect of this decision on the delivery of health services. Both officials reiterated the Government of Change and Construction's commitment to providing necessary health services to citizens despite ongoing challenges.
During the meeting, Dr. Sheban and Dr. Aburas expressed their disappointment over the WHO's suspension of certain projects in areas managed by the Government of Change and Construction, viewing it as a politicization of humanitarian efforts. They mentioned that this decision stands in opposition to the principles of humanitarian work and could negatively influence relations with the WHO.
