Health Minister and Undersecretary Conduct Comprehensive Inspection of Taiz Health Facilities

Taiz: The Minister of Health and Environment, Dr. Ali Shaiban, along with the undersecretary, Dr. Nasher Al-Qaoud, undertook an extensive inspection of several health facilities in the Taiz Governorate.

According to Yemen News Agency, the inspection included visits to the Military Hospital in Al-Hawban, Al-Barh Rural Hospital in Maqbanah District, Hajdah Central Hospital, and Al-Nasr Shamir Rural Hospital in Saqm. Accompanied by the Assistant Commander of the Fourth Military Region, Major General Mohammed Al-Khaled, the delegation reviewed the level of medical services provided to patients and engaged with hospital leadership to understand the current service offerings and future development plans.

During the visit to the Military Hospital, Dr. Shaiban and Dr. Al-Qaoud emphasized the need to continuously improve infrastructure and medical equipment. They acknowledged the efforts of the hospital's leadership and staff, especially given the challenging circumstances prevailing in the country.

The officials also assessed Al-Barh Rural Hospital, discussing its most pressing needs in terms of equipment, supplies, and medication. The Minister of Health highlighted the importance of supporting rural hospitals, which have long been deprived of adequate health services, and praised the dedication of the hospital staff in maintaining service delivery.

At Hajdah Central Hospital, the delegation listened to the hospital's leadership regarding the hospital's challenges and needs, emphasizing their commitment to improve services and provide necessary resources. They also discussed the importance of training medical personnel to enhance service quality.

The inspection concluded with a visit to Al-Nasr Shamir Rural Hospital, where the team explored updates, challenges, and needs. Dr. Shaiban and Dr. Al-Qaoud reiterated that the Ministry's focus remains on enhancing rural healthcare infrastructure and services, aiming to alleviate the burden of travel for medical treatment on citizens.

Dr. Shaiban noted the significant demand for healthcare services in remote areas, which are experiencing substantial displacement. The Ministry plans to collaborate with local authorities to expand hospital capacities and improve access to specialized care, recognizing the resilience and efforts of the healthcare staff in improving the health situation for citizens.

The visits were also attended by the Director of the Health and Environment Office in the Governorate, Dr. Abdulmalik Al-Mutawakil, who supported the delegation in their assessments and discussions.
