Sana'a: A meeting of the Higher Education Sector at the Ministry of Education and Scientific Research, chaired by Sector Deputy Dr. Ibrahim Luqman, today discussed the annual performance report of Sana'a University for the academic year 2023-2024.
According to Yemen News Agency, the meeting, attended by the review committee, examined the annual report submitted by University President Dr. Mohammed Al-Bukhayti. The report outlined the university's achievements and developments in strategic planning, leadership and governance, teaching and learning, automation and digital transformation, faculty and staff development, continuous improvement and quality assurance, postgraduate studies and scientific research, human resources and financial affairs, projects and community services, as well as challenges and opportunities.
Key achievements highlighted in the report included the university obtaining institutional and programmatic national accreditation as the first national university to do so, efforts to secure international accreditation for its medicine and surgery programs, the inauguration of the Heart and Catheterization Center at Kuwait Teaching Hospital, and the launch of an electronic testing center equipped with 1,700 computers, among other accomplishments.
Dr. Luqman praised Sana'a University's performance report, commending its reputation, academic staff, and infrastructure, which position it as a leading national university capable of regional competition. He emphasized the importance of such reports in helping the ministry achieve its desired progress based on accurate data and performance indicators.
Meanwhile, the supervisory committee and heads of the university report's thematic areas reviewed the evaluation methodology, assessing the report's components according to approved performance indicators and assessment frameworks.
