Hodeida Governor Assesses Impact of Heavy Flooding in Bajil and Marawe’ah Districts

Hodeida: Governor Abdullah Atifi, along with Province Undersecretary Ahmed al-Bishri and Deputy for Eastern Districts Affairs Amer Muthanna, conducted an inspection of flood damage in the Bajil and Marawe'ah districts following recent heavy rains.

According to Yemen News Agency, the officials assessed the destruction inflicted on homes, vehicles, and roads. They were also briefed on the tragic drowning of two youths in al-Qutei' city. Additionally, the flooding led to the closure of the Hodeida-Sana'a road in al-Kawkabiyah, which resulted in blocked traffic and stranded numerous vehicles.

Governor Atifi emphasized the importance of implementing urgent measures to safeguard homes and infrastructure. He highlighted the necessity for developing long-term drainage strategies. In support, al-Bishri stated that efforts are being coordinated to promptly reopen the road and restore essential services.
