Sana'a: The General Directorate of Cultural and Social Activities at the Ministry of Youth and Sports in Sana'a organized a cultural program on Saturday alongside the Cycling Federation Championship. The event aimed to enhance the cultural and intellectual awareness of participating athletes.
According to Yemen News Agency, the program included a lecture by cultural activist Mohammed Al-Badawi, who spoke on the role of culture in developing athletes' awareness and strengthening national identity, moral values, and a sense of responsibility. Al-Badawi also emphasized the importance of sportsmanship, discipline, and positive behavior both on and off the field.
The cultural competition held among participants saw Hodeida governorate securing first place. The competition, which took place in a lively and interactive atmosphere, was moderated by Ali Al-Sawari and Riyadh Al-Amisi.
In addition, participants engaged in an educational tour of the Great Mosque and Old Sana'a, guided by Dr. Mohammed Haj, Director of Cultural and Social Activities, along with youth leaders. The tour aimed to deepen the participants' appreciation of the nation's cultural heritage and faith by exploring historical landmarks and traditional markets.
This activity is part of an ongoing series of cultural programs that accompany sporting championships, aiming to raise cultural awareness and reinforce the educational role of sports.
