Hodeida: The Hodeida governorate recently experienced significant public protests in the city center and various districts, as citizens voiced their outrage against what they termed as Zionist-American aggression and direct insults from Trump towards Mecca and the Holy Kaaba. Demonstrators also expressed their dissatisfaction with the silence of certain regimes.
According to Yemen News Agency, the protests, led by Hodeida governor Abdullah Atifi, Secretary-General of the Presidency Hassan Sharaf al-Din, and Hodeida undersecretary Ahmed al-Bashari, witnessed participants raising banners and chanting slogans against American actions. The crowds expressed their willingness to defend their holy sites at any cost.
The protestors condemned what they described as a blatant insult from Trump, who reportedly likened the Holy Kaaba to a "garbage dump." They viewed this as an affront to the sanctity of Islamic holy sites and a challenge to the faith of billions of Muslims, demanding a strong response against such provocations.
The citizens expressed disbelief at the silence of those they referred to as "scholars of the nation," criticizing them for not speaking out against the desecration of holy sites. They called the silence of Arab and Islamic leaders complicity and criticized the Saudi regime for not defending the Holy Kaaba.
The protests also highlighted concerns over Wahhabism, accusing it of inciting sectarian strife and contributing to conflict in various Muslim nations. Participants argued that this religious ideology has failed to defend Islamic holy sites when needed.
The demonstrators emphasized that insults to religious sites reflect the subservience of regimes normalizing relations with certain powers, prioritizing their interests over the dignity of their people. They asserted that such actions embolden adversaries and endanger other significant sites like Al-Aqsa Mosque.
The masses reiterated their support for the leader of the revolution, Sayyid Abdul-Malik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, urging a collective Arab and Muslim response to protect holy sites. They issued a statement condemning global Zionist forces' systematic insults and called for a decisive action to protect Islamic symbols.
The statement warned of the intentions behind these insults, linking them to recent defeats of the American-Israeli alliance. It suggested these actions are part of a broader plan to weaken the sanctity of religious sites and expand certain geopolitical agendas.
The statement concluded by urging vigilance against potential future threats and emphasized reliance on faith for victory. The protests served as a call to action for the entire Muslim community to unite in defense of their holy sites and values.
