Hodeidah: The Tuberculosis and Chest Diseases Control Center in Hodeidah Province held a celebratory event marking the Prophet Muhammad's birthday for 1448 AH. The event also saw the launch of a program to distribute desktop computers to TB control program representatives and coordinators, as well as voluntary counseling and testing centers across the province.
According to Yemen News Agency, Director of the Provincial Health and Environment Office Dr. Ali Al-Haddad said the occasion was an opportunity to renew commitment to improving performance and health services, drawing inspiration from the Prophet's values of responsibility and service. He noted that the computers would help modernize information systems, facilitate networking, automate medical and field reports, and improve case tracking and healthcare delivery to curb the spread of chest diseases.
Al-Haddad praised the Ministry of Health's support for TB control programs and the continued provision of medicines and essential supplies to TB centers. Following the event, Al-Haddad and health specialists inspected medical and diagnostic services at the center and reviewed its work and development needs.
Center Director Dr. Mohammed Saif stated that the technical support would strengthen field staff capabilities, improve data and reporting management, and enhance counseling, testing, and case follow-up services.
