Sanaa:The National Human Rights Authority has issued a strong condemnation regarding the recent attacks by Saudi forces and their mercenaries in the Taiz and Marib governorates of Yemen.

According to Yemen News Agency, the authority expressed grave concern over the airstrikes and other forms of aggression that targeted civilians and infrastructure, describing them as a violation of international humanitarian law. The statement highlighted incidents in Taiz, including the targeting of Al-Amoud Al-Sughra, which resulted in injuries to three civilians, and Al-Ramah village, where one citizen was seriously wounded. Additionally, in Maqbanah District, attacks on the communications network led to the deaths of two civilians and injuries to several others, including a child and a woman.

Further details from the statement noted attacks in the Al-Amror area of Hayfan District, where mortar shelling caused the deaths of two individuals, including a girl, and injuries to four others. Another attack in Hayfan resulted in the deaths of a citizen and a girl, with two women injured. In Marib Governorate's Mahliyah District, livestock were also targeted, impacting civilian livelihoods.

The Human Rights Authority has classified these acts as war crimes under Article 8 of the Rome Statute and violations of the Geneva Conventions, which protect civilian lives. The Authority is calling on international bodies, including the United Nations and the International Committee of the Red Cross, to take action against these violations and hold the perpetrators accountable.

The Authority has deployed field teams in Taiz to document the incidents for inclusion in a criminal case file, underscoring their commitment to pursuing justice without the limitation of time.
