Paris: The Ibb Governor, Abdul Wahid Salah, inspected on Wednesday the maintenance and rehabilitation works being carried out at Ibb Sports Stadium, which is set to host several First Division football league matches at the governorate level.
According to Yemen News Agency, the governor listened to a briefing from those in charge of the maintenance works regarding the technical tasks, preparations, and necessary equipment that have been implemented to prepare the stadium to host the matches, particularly those involving Ittihad Ibb Club in the league competition.
Governor Salah stressed that the ongoing maintenance and rehabilitation works at Ibb Sports Stadium come within the framework of the local authority's efforts to restore and upgrade sports facilities in the governorate. He emphasized the importance of adhering to technical specifications and the established timelines to ensure the stadium is fully ready to host First Division matches in a manner befitting the competition.
He also noted that support for the sports sector is a priority due to its role in developing youth potential and directing it toward serving society, pointing out that the coming period will witness greater attention to sports infrastructure, enhancing Ibb Governorate's presence in various competitions and championships.
