Ibb Launches Ashura Commemoration Activities with Ceremony

Sana'a: Local authorities and mobilization officials in Ibb governorate on Saturday launched activities marking Ashura, the anniversary of the martyrdom of Imam Hussein, with a ceremony held under the slogan "Far From Us Is Humiliation." The event was attended by governor Abdulwahid Salah and Deputy Minister of Education and Scientific Research for Training and Qualification Mohammed Ghallab.

According to Yemen News Agency, speakers at the event highlighted the historical role of Imam Hussein in confronting injustice and deviation. They emphasized the significance of his legacy in promoting values of sacrifice, steadfastness, and adherence to principles. Participants noted that commemorating Ashura serves as an opportunity to reflect on the lessons of Karbala, strengthen awareness of contemporary challenges facing the nation, and reinforce values of dignity, resilience, and commitment to just causes.

The event also included presentations on Imam Hussein's life and reformist mission, with speakers describing his stand against oppression as a lasting source of inspiration for peoples seeking justice, freedom, and moral integrity.
